Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity :
We are currently looking for an experienced Exhibitions Manager to join the gallery team and support them through logistical planning and exhibitions and operations management on a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) basis.
Accountabilities :
- Lead, implement and facilitate the logistical planning of exhibitions by liaising with artists and other external parties to ensure the realisation and smooth running of the Gallery’s programme to a high professional standard.
- Project manage exhibition changeovers, including installation and deinstallation practices.
- Lead and project manage logistics including transportation, freight and insurance.
- Implement audio-visual technical solutions for exhibitions in liaison with external contractors and artists.
- Ensure best practice for technical installation commensurate with a Historic Place Category 1 heritage building.
- Supervise, guide and oversee the work of freelance technicians and contractors as required.
This is a part-time, 30 hours per week, permanent role. The salary range for this role is $66,600 – $70,000 prorated to 30 hours per week, per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

He kōrero mōu | About you :
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience of working in an art gallery or museum context. You will have a working knowledge of a contemporary art gallery and managing complex multi-media installations. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will be experienced at leading teams and working with artists and external practitioners to deliver positive outcomes.
You will also have :
